After a very long break from hiking I finally made it back to Shenandoah National Park.  Some photographers say one should pre-visualize your shots.  So I had in mind mountain vistas  like the first two shots below.  In my 11 mile trek I went to a waterfall Barb and I had seen three years ago (that's Barb's picture with the great flow of water) but what I saw was the fourth picture.  The whole hike was in woods like shown in picture 5 and so the mountain vista shots had to wait until I was back in the car.  So while I had pre-visualized vistas what I got on the hike was mushrooms, bugs and wild flowers.  I think being receptive to what is presented is as valuable as pre visualizing....
